CoolFly Dream ST at Maldives Expo 2026: First Inter-Island Flight by Personal Aircraft
CoolFly has been invited by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Maldives and the Maldives Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade to exhibit its Dream ST seated personal aircraft at Maldives Expo 2026. The Maldives’ national exhibition opens on October 25 at Central Park in Hulhumalé. CoolFly will exhibit at Booth C12 in the China Pavilion, within the 05 International Exhibitors District.
During its visit, CoolFly also plans to conduct the Maldives’ first inter-island flight using a personal aircraft, taking Dream ST beyond the exhibition stand and into a real-world island setting.
Ahead of the trip, a CoolFly delegation led by Vice President Yi Mao visited the Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in China. The delegation introduced CoolFly’s personal aircraft and outlined its plans for Maldives Expo 2026. Both sides discussed potential applications for personal aircraft in the Maldives.
Organized by the Maldives Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade in collaboration with other institutions, Maldives Expo 2026 brings together international governments, companies and brands to showcase products, technologies and investment opportunities. CoolFly will feature Dream ST, a lightweight, single-seat personal aircraft from its Dream series. The aircraft uses an all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) architecture, with four axes and eight propellers.
Dream ST features CoolFly’s self-developed NA80 aviation-grade dual-redundant flight control system and a primary-and-backup battery configuration. It has an empty weight of under 254 lb (115 kg), a maximum payload of 209 lb (95 kg) and a top speed of 62 mph (100 km/h). Its foldable airframe is designed to simplify transportation and storage.
With more than 1,000 coral islands spread across the Indian Ocean, the Maldives relies heavily on sea transport to connect its communities and tourism destinations. Resorts, yachting and water sports are central to the country’s tourism industry. With vertical take-off and landing capability, no runway requirement and a foldable airframe for easier transport, Dream ST could offer new possibilities for island-based tourism. Potential applications include resort-based flight experiences, aerial sightseeing over the sea and leisure experiences around yachts.
A key highlight of CoolFly’s visit will be the planned inter-island flight, during which Dream ST is expected to fly between islands. If carried out as planned, the flight would mark the Maldives’ first inter-island flight using a personal aircraft. It would also demonstrate the potential of personal aircraft for island-based low-altitude flight applications.
Building on this initiative, CoolFly plans to strengthen relationships with local partners and explore future collaborations in areas such as resort-based flight experiences. Through these efforts, the company aims to bring the joy of flight to more people across the Maldives’ island communities.
